“I am among those who think that science has a great beauty. A scientist in his/ her laboratory is not only a technician, he/ she is also a child placed in front of natural phenomena that fashinate him/ her as a fairy tale.” –Marie Curie- It’s so difficult to imagine where Chemistry isnot involved in our daily lives.

Everything around us and inside us is Chemistry. It is around us in the natural phenomena that are vital for life, such as photosynthesis of plants and it is in us because the good functioning of the human body is regulated by chemical reactions. Therefore life is chemistry in action. In a small town of Cheshire, in England, there is one of the most interesting museums of chemistry. It is located at the centre of an area where the modern chemical industry has had a wide development in the 19th century. In 1993 in Copenhagen a project called “Chemestry for life” was born and it was decided to strengthen the link between schools and museums. This is a good way for Chemistry to become more widely known and more interesting for the children.
